How long does it take to process a new account?
RisingNet will setup your account as soon as your payment is cleared. If paying
by credit card, your account will be created after our bank has confirmed
the payment.

How long does it take to setup / transfer a domain?
RisingNet gets
the wheels in motion as soon as possible. It takes about 24 - 48 hours
to register a new domain name or transfer a domain name. Please visit

Once your account is activated you will be able to access your web
site through a temporary url, until your domain name is setup by Internic.
How do I transfer files to my web site?
RisingNet allows all of members use of an FTP client to transfer all of their
html files to our server. Our server is open 24 hours 7 days a week.
Therefore you can update and change for your site at anytime from
anywhere. Please logon using your user name and password which you
received from us by mail. We will sign you up an address for your FTP.
What speed does RisingNet host my site?
RisingNet will
host your site with a Super fast full Ethernet speed 100 Mbps point to point
connect to OC 192 backbound. We supply the most speed for
your buck!!
Can I run bots, irc, bnc on my web hosting package?
RisingNet does not permit any IRC processes on web hosting account.
Customers only can run IRC Processes on Shell Account Packets, VPS, and dedicated servers.
Can I run background processes on my web hosting package?
Customers are not allow to run any background process on RisingNet web server.
However, if you want to run background process on web hosting account
Please contact support@risingnet.net, we will be able to set you up on VPS.
To whom should I report problems?
RisingNet's staff works 24/7 to allow you the reliability and security of a very
high quality hosting server. We have technicians working all the time

How do I change my account password?
At the prompt in your shell account (Should look like this: "bash-2.03$")
type in "passwd" without the quotes. Then follow the on
screen directions and instructions. If you continue to have problems
please contact our support.
What is my e-mail address?
If you have your own domain name it will be username@yourdomain.com.
If you are using an account off of RisingNet
your e-mail will be username@Risingnet.net.
How can I receive my e-mail from my shell account?
Just type in "elm" without the quotes in your shell account.
How do I setup an Eggdrop in my shell account?

How do i setup a BNC server in my shell account?
Install BNC, please visit getbnc
How do I kill a background process?
Inside your shell acount type the following without quotes: "ps x"
to see the PID number. Then type the following without quotes "Kill
-9 PID", where PID is the PID number desplayed with the first
command.
How many background process can i run on my shell account?
You only can run 2 background process. If you need more background process,
please email admin@risingnet.net
it will be $5.00 more for each background process. Max on one account
is 3 background process.
